While generally safe when used as directed, certain precautions apply when using capsicum plasters:

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes, as capsaicin can cause severe irritation.

Those with capsaicin allergies should not use. Discontinue if rash, hives or itching occurs.

Do not apply to wounded, damaged or irritated skin.

Do not bathe, swim or exercise excessively when wearing plasters. Sweat and water can loosen adhesion.

Don’t apply heat like heating pads over plasters, as skin irritation may occur.

Monitor children and elderly users closely to ensure plasters don’t become dislodged.

Remove plasters slowly and gently to avoid damaging irritated skin underneath.

Never cut capsicum plasters before use. Only apply intact plasters.

By carefully following usage instructions and monitoring skin's response, capsicum plasters can be used safely to provide targeted pain relief when needed.
